The Governor's School for the Arts Orchestra da Camera specializes in music for chamber orchestra of varying instrumentation from eight to thirty-three musicians. This select ensemble is coached by GSA Orchestra Director, Jeff Phelps and performs without conductor. Every musician leads the ensemble and is encouraged to take an active role in the musical decisions of the group. Orchestra da Camera performs in the acoustically superb Chandler Recital Hall of the Diehn Fine Arts Building, Old Dominion University. GSA students frequently perform solo works with the orchestra.
