Jeffrey PHELPS is Chair of Instrumental Music at the Governor's School for the Arts and Music Director of the Governor's School for the Arts Orchestra. A graduate of the Governor’s School for the Arts and the Cleveland Institute of Music, Jeff also serves on the artist faculty at Virginia Wesleyan College and Chamber Music of the Rockies, performs as the cellist for the Alborada Trio and sits on the Board of Directors of the Bay Youth Orchestras of Virginia. Jeff is a SURDNA Arts Teachers Fellow and a three-time recipient of a Foundation Thyll-Durr grant.
