SCHOLARSHIP
AUDITION INFORMATION- Click here for the 2009 scholarship offerings
Students must audition
for
these scholarships in special classes which take place on Thursday,
March 5, 2009 beginning at approximately 8:30am. THERE WILL NO REQUESTS
FOR
SPECIFIC AUDITION TIMES. Teachers should collect all audition applications
and mail together in one packet. COMPLETED AUDITION APPLICATIONS MUST
BE RECEIVED BY FEBRUARY 2, 2009. ABSOLUTELY NO ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS
WILL
BE PERMITTED.
Students will participate in a class consisting of ballet and modern
techniques. Students are required to be warmed-up prior to the audition,
because the
audition classes will not be complete classes. Each audition class
will be on the advanced level. Please note that “advanced” means
at a national level. If your students are not qualified, please do
not encourage them to audition. College scholarships are open only
to students
currently in the 12th grade and other scholarships are open only
to students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Space will be INITIALLY
limited to no more
than EIGHT students per school.
Carefully review the list of scholarships with your students and
have each student auditioning complete the scholarship
application form.
Please include
teacher phone and fax number on the application form to help facilitate
contact. STUDENTS MAY ONLY AUDITION FOR THOSE SCHOLARSHIPS THEY CAN
ACCEPT BASED ON DATES, TRAVEL AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS. STUDENTS
MUST APPLY TO
THE SCHOOLS OF CHOICE PRIOR TO THE FESTIVAL. STUDENTS SHOULD CALL
THE SCHOOLS DIRECTLY FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
The scholarships will be awarded based on the stated criteria for
each institution. The recipient will be selected by either a representative
from the institution awarding the scholarship or by the Festival’s
Scholarship Selection Team. The students are asked to select their first
five choices, although this does not mean that they will be excluded
from being offered other scholarships.
